I Want to Plan My Visit!
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. You will see a few suits, some business casual, and during the summer you might even see someone wear shorts, jeans, flip flops, whatever. Right from the start we want you to know Flint River is about who you are on the inside, not what you look like on the outside.
Where can I park?
If it’s your first time with us then please find the special guest parking close to the entrance, or find any parking space that suits you. There is always space in the lot behind the church, with convenient access to RiverKids check in for families with children. If you have special needs, we’ve blocked off quite a few handicapped spaces close to the entrances.
Where do I go once I’m inside?
Our foyer is a large open area where you can easily access the worship center, grab a cup of coffee, visit the guest services desk to get more information on how you can get involved, sit and talk with a new friend, or find your way to a RiverKids check in area if you have kids.
What should I do with my children?
Flint River offers a full range of age-appropriate programs for children from birth through sixth grade. Our loving team of volunteers are ready to provide a fun, safe environment for your little one so you can concentrate on enjoying the worship experience.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
Visiting us for the first time? No fear! Look for the Guest Services desk and they will help you find the right area. At the welcome desk, our team will meet your family, register your child and give your child a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special requirements during check-in time. One of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room. We can’t wait to meet you!
How CHECK-IN Works.
Before Service: You can check in your child at any available kiosk. A kiosk host will find your child’s name in the database. Then they’ll give you and your child matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold onto the matching tag.
After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.
During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will text you using the emergency contact number you entered at the kiosk. We ask that you exit the worship center immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.
You can pre-register your family and speed up the check-in process by filling out this FORM.
What will be expected to do during a worship service?
First, we promise you won’t be embarrassed or pressured to give money or to join the church, so relax and focus on experiencing worship. We’ll be singing songs to express our love for God, and the words will be on screens so you can sing along if you want to.
On Sunday mornings, our worship service is at 10:30 AM.
You may also see Christian sacraments such as baptism or communion, and we’ll be sure to explain what they mean so you won’t feel out of the loop.
One of our pastors will share a relevant message, often combined with photos or video clips, to encourage you to discover new truths that help you see life from God’s point of view. We encourage you to take notes and check what we are saying against the Bible for yourself.
What happens at the end of the service?
At the close of the service you’ll have an opportunity to respond to the message in a variety of ways if you so desire.
Our services last about 60 minutes. After that you’ll be ready to go pick up your little ones, meet new friends for lunch, or just head home.
